If you are considering getting a Chiweenie, you'll want to check out the incredible book "The Complete Guide to Chiweenies". It's written in an easy-to-understand way but still has the expert knowledge to help any new owner successfully raise their Chiweenie from puppy to old-age. It's widely available, so pick up a copy if you see one, or click here to grab one on Amazon.
A mix of a Chihuahua and a Dachshund, the Chiweenie has a loving and social personality. Because they tend to be strong-willed, it is best to have them undergo training; they are not suggested for someone who has never owned a dog before. The Chiweenie does not require much in the way of grooming, and usually has a short coat. They do not need a lot of exercise, making them ideal for families who live in an apartment or simply don’t get out a lot. Chiweenies are protective of their owners, and will bark to let them know when an intruder is present. They do well with children and make excellent family pets.
