The French Mastiff, also known as the “Dogue de Bordeaux” or “Bordeaux Bulldog”, is a stocky, short Mastiff. They are quite calm and patient as well as extremely loyal to their family. Their loyalty makes them amazing watchdogs, but they can sometimes be confrontational with strangers. However, they are very gentle around their family and even children. If socialized early enough, French Mastiff’s will get along well with other dogs. They are intelligent but require early and consistent training to avoid a too dominant French Mastiff. Though this breed looks intimidating, the French Mastiff actually makes a great companion for any family.
