As tenacious as any terrier tends to be, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier usually has a calm vibe. Just be aware that if it sees something that harkens its long-bred desire to chase and root out (i.e. squirrels or even outdoor cats), the Dandie will not hesitate. Owners should be sure to enclose the Dandie in a physical fence, and pass over the invisible because it isn’t deterrent enough to keep this breed close to home if tempted by prey. This breed sports a unique physical look, which includes a sassy topknot and a scimitar tail among other things. The Dandie Dinmont Terrier can be a wonderful family dog if raised among children, but will likely evoke laughs when it appears disinterested in visitors.
