Originating in Sussex County, England, the Sussex Spaniel was bred to help hunters by flushing birds into the air. They are known for their gentle and affectionate personality as well as their “never give up” attitude. The Sussex Spaniel is a devoted breed that loves to be around their family – so much so that they do not do well being left alone for long periods of time. They also enjoy the company of other dogs. The Sussex Spaniel is a vocal breed that will make a great watchdog – alerting their family of any incoming strangers. An even-tempered breed, the Sussex Spaniel will get along with children if raised with them or socialized properly. Though intelligent, they can be a bit challenging to train, thanks to their stubborn tendencies. If you are looking for a true companion dog, the Sussex Spaniel may be for you!< p>
