Scottish Terrier Rescue Organizations In All States

If you are considering getting a Scottish Terrier, you'll want to check out the incredible book "The Complete Guide to Scottish Terriers". It's written in an easy-to-understand way but still has the expert knowledge to help any new owner successfully raise their Scottish Terrier from puppy to old-age. It's widely available, so pick up a copy if you see one, or click here to grab one on Amazon.

Bred to hunt badgers and foxes, the Scottish Terrier is an independent, intelligent, and stubborn breed. They are a loyal breed and thanks to their terrier background, make excellent watchdogs. You’ll always know when there is a stranger near with a Scottish Terrier! They can be aloof with strangers, though. They are a brave and devoted breed that love to be around their family. They do well with children but smaller children should be supervised, as Scottish Terriers will stick up for themselves when being pulled at or teased. Being a terrier, they have a mind of their own and can be difficult to train (though they are intelligent). They were actually bred to work apart from their owners, so they tend to do what they think is right on their own. That is why early and consistent is an absolute necessary. Overall, the Scottish Terrier will make a wonderful companion to any family looking for an independent yet devoted family dog.
