Smart and confident, the Boykin Spaniel originated in South Carolina to be a turkey and waterfowl hunter. Their friendly demeanor and medium-size makes them a great family companion. Their intelligence makes them easily trainable but early and consistent training is recommended. Being a sporting breed, the Boykin Spaniel needs daily exercise and would be especially happy with any form of water activity. Early socialization will help the Boykin Spaniel live peacefully with other pets as well as children. The Boykin Spaniel will make a great addition to any family.
