A member of the American Pit Bull Terrier breed, the Blue Pitbull is unique thanks to the color of their nose. Blue is actually a rare color for the Pit Bull breed, and dog breeds in general. Some blue nose Pit Bulls don’t actually have blue noses – they can be red or an incomplete blue – but they are still considered “Blue-Nosed”. American Pit Bull Terriers are an often misunderstood breed. They are tenacious and courageous, which makes them a target for unfit owners looking for a fighting dog. This has caused the American Pit Bull Terrier to gain a bad reputation. American Pit Bull Terriers are extremely intelligent but need early training and socialization. If properly trained and socialized, they make an amazing family companion, especially for children. In fact, Pit Bulls were once used as “nanny dogs” thanks to their gentleness with children. Their loving and gentle nature makes them unstable watchdogs, but they are devoted and loyal to their family and will defend them if necessary. They have a zest for life and an infectious personality.
