Belgian Malinois Rescue Organizations In All States

If you are considering getting a Belgian Malinois, you'll want to check out the incredible book "The Complete Guide to the Belgian Malinois". It's widely available, so pick up a copy if you see one, or click here to grab one on Amazon.

Intelligent and athletic, the Belgian Malinois was originally bred to be a herding dog. Hailing from Mailnes, Belgium, the Belgian Malinois loves to work and has a lot of stamina. Often confused with the German Shepherd, the two are actually quite different. The Belgian Malinois has a different body structure – they are lighter boned and smaller – and a different temperament. More sensitive than the German Shepherd, the Malinois is also quicker to respond and more alert. The Malinois can be reserved and aloof with strangers but are generally friendly and assertive. Due to their high energy level, the Belgian Malinois is recommended for experienced dog owners or an owner with dog training experience. They like to be included in the family and do not do well being alone for long periods of time. The Malinois is quick to learn and eager to please. They were bred to protect and herd so properly socialization is required. With early training and socialization, the Belgian Malinois makes an excellent family companion.
