If you are considering getting a Labrador Retriever, you'll want to check out the incredible book "The Complete Guide to Labrador Retrievers". It's written in an easy-to-understand way but still has the expert knowledge to help any new owner successfully raise their Labrador Retriever from puppy to old-age. It's widely available, so pick up a copy if you see one, or click here to grab one on Amazon.

America’s most popular breed, the Labrador Retriever was originally bred to help fishermen by hauling nets, fetching ropes, and retrieving fish. Intelligent and athletic, the Labrador Retriever is family dog through and through. They are sweet-natured and love to be around their families. They get along great with other dogs and children. The Labrador Retriever excels at pretty much any job they have – whether that is search and rescue or a therapy dog. But there is one job this breed does not do well at: a watchdog. The Labrador is too friendly to make a good watchdog – they’d rather help an intruder than scare them off! Because they are a larger breed, they will need early and consistent training to help with their manners. The Labrador Retriever is certainly the most popular for a reason – they make amazing family companions!
