Standard Poodle Rescue Organizations In All States

If you are considering getting a Poodle, you'll want to check out the incredible book "The Complete Guide to Poodles". It's written in an easy-to-understand way but still has the expert knowledge to help any new owner successfully raise their Poodle from puppy to old-age. It's widely available, so pick up a copy if you see one, or click here to grab one on Amazon.

Elegant and clever, the Standard Poodle was originally bred as a water retriever. The English name “poodle” is actually derived from the German word “pudel” which means to “splash in the water”. The Standard Poodle is one of the three sizes of Poodles (Toy and Miniature are the other two) and is the oldest of the trio. The Poodle is known for their above-average intelligence. They are quick learners but early and consistent training is still necessary. This breed is totally family-oriented and love to be around their family – so much so that they can suffer from separation anxiety if left alone for long periods of time. They are extremely children-friendly and will do well with other dogs if socialized properly. The Standard Poodle will make an excellent companion for a family looking for a devoted and intelligent dog!
