The Shorkie is a cross between the Shih Tzu and the Yorkshire Terrier. The Shorkie is energetic and playful and loves to be around their families. They are a loyal breed and make excellent watchdogs – barking to alert their owners of approaching strangers. They make great playmates to children – though their small size can be problematic to younger children – as well as other dogs. Shorkie’s are intelligent but they can be stubborn, making training a bit difficult. Early and consistent training can help, though. They’re definitely happiest doing anything with their owners – whether that be going for a walk or just lounging around. This dedicated and loving breed makes a great companion for any family!
