Pyrenean Shepherd Rescue Organizations In All States

Nicknamed the Pyr Shep, this breed has many good attributes, such as intelligence, intense loyalty and guard dog credentials. However, the Pyr Shep needs dedicated, active and assertive owners. Without the attention and exercise it needs, this canine will destroy anything it can, so it’s critical that owners engage their Pyr Shep mentally and physically. At least an hour of exercise a day is recommended, but even better is to find a job for your dog to perform, such as training in agility, herding or obedience. Fans of the Pyr Shep love its small size – it tops out at 32 pounds – as well as its long, shaggy coat and affectionate personality. Just be sure you’re ready to outsmart and out-dominate your new pet.
