Pomeranians are a toy breed that elicit ‘ahhs’ everywhere they go. And make no mistake, they are happy to hear it. Nicknamed Poms, these tiny dogs (they range from 3 – 7 pounds) come with a big personality that is full of warmth, curiosity and energy. Often noted as a great option for owners who require a smaller dog but love the energy and athleticism of larger herding dogs, the Pom delivers in friendliness, ease-of-ownership and impressive physical feats. Big fans of both humans and other dogs, Poms need to be socialized from an early age. They also have a distinctly fluffy coat that needs regular grooming, though it’s not time-consuming.
