Originating in Northern England, the Lakeland Terrier was bred to hunt foxes that preyed on famers sheep. This is a feisty, affectionate, and confident breed well-known for their rectangular head, v-shaped folded ears, and docked tail. Like most terriers, the Lakeland Terrier is determined and willful, making training (especially housetraining) quite difficult. However, when trained early and consistently, this intelligent breed will learn rather quickly. They are charming and have a great sense of humor. Lakeland Terriers get along well with other dogs and children, especially when socialized properly, but tend to be weary of strangers. They do love to bark, though, so they make good watchdogs. If you’re looking for a dog with a courageous yet cheerful disposition, you’ll love the Lakeland Terrier!< p>
