One of the most ancient dog breeds, Greyhounds were originally bred in Egypt as hunting dogs – chasing foxes, hares, and deer. They can reach running speeds of up to 45 miles per hour and have a striking appearance. This breed is loyal and affectionate. They absolutely love people and other dogs. Greyhound’s are not aggressive toward strangers but they will let you know if someone is there. Though they do love to run, they also love to sleep and will actually do quite well in apartments. This gentle and devoted breed makes a wonderful family companion.
