Though intelligent, the German Wirehaired Pointer can be independent and stubborn so early and consistent training is necessary. Their love of work makes them excellent search and rescue candidates. Since they love attention, leaving them alone for long periods of time may cause them to be destructive. The German Wirehaired Pointer is willing to please and loves to go for a morning jog with you then relax on the couch. Their love of work combined with their of family makes them a great family addition.
