The Doxiepoo is a mix between a Dachshund and a Poodle, and be warned, the mix is highly unpredictable in terms of which traits are activated. The Doxiepoo can be so hard to breed to high standards that many Dachshund and Poodle breeders won’t agree to sell their purebreds to potential Doxiepoo breeders. The two parents have their own agreeable traits, but when combining them, the results are rarely spot-on for all positive. Ideally the Doxiepoo is good-natured, social and trainable, but in many circumstances the Dachshund’s stubbornness and the Poodle’s ability to destroy things if bored can combine for a big combustion. If you’re set on this breed, be prepared to pay for a reputable breeder or keep an eye on local shelters.
