The rare and interesting Curly-Coated Retriever has a host of good traits, and very few bad. It’s not the perfect dog for everyone, but if you end up choosing it, you’re likely to fall in love just as legions of owners have before you. Though its coat may make you think grooming will be overwhelming, the unusual curly coat is actually low-maintenance. This sport dog boasts intelligence, trainability, sociability and affection as its most beloved traits, and owners who have access to water will enjoy watching their Curly-Coated Retriever do its thing with great zeal. Needing less exercise than many of its retriever contemporaries, this breed is happy with moderate energy burns.
