This Chihuahua/Pug designer dog is a mixed breed, and it can have all the good traits of both the tiny Chihuahua and the adorable Pug. Be aware genes can mix in lots of ways, so with the good may come the bad. Both the Chihuahua and the Pug have an attitude that some would call too big for its britches, so a Chug can lack good judgment. Be ready to accept a Chug with the trademark breathing problems of a Pug, or the notable yapping of a Chihuahua. However, most Chugs find a happy mix of the good and bad, and you are likely to have a 10 – 20-pound dog that is smart, trainable and companionable. Most experts recommend Chugs to families with older children, who will properly handle them.
