The Chinook dog was originally bred in New Hampshire, and is the official dog of the state. Known for being loving and affectionate with their families, they are ideal for those who have small children. They are considered a working dog, and have been used as a sled dog. These dogs enjoy taking part in obedience and agility training since they are so active. The Chinook dog has been used in search-and-rescue missions with great success as well. They do possess some health problems, such as atopy and epilepsy, although for the most part they are very healthy.
