Noted for being quiet and not a barker, the Bullmastiff is a combination of Old English Bulldog and the English Mastiff. These dogs are very dedicated to their families, and do not need any special encouragement to protect a family member if they sense them to be in danger. Bullmastiffs needs a great deal of training, and must be socialized constantly, since they can become very headstrong if they are not worked with. Active dogs, they can be used for carting, and enjoy agility exercises and various forms of obedience. This breed tends to get very large, and growth does not stop until they are three years old.
