Originally from Brussels, Belgium, as the name would suggest, the Brussels Griffon is loyal to their master. Originally bred to exterminate rodents, the Brussels Griffon soon became loved by both the working class and nobility alike. This breed is noted for getting along well with other household pets and being affectionate and loving with children. However, they are a one-person dog, and may show favoritism toward one owner more than another. This breed is relatively healthy, with few problems. Because of their large eyes, Brussels Griffon dogs may have issues with lens luxation and glaucoma, so extra care for the eye area in the form of additional checkups is important.
