A graceful breed with a sweet disposition, the Borzoi originated in Russia as a hunting and coursing dog. They are full of speed yet have a laidback personality. They love a quick sprint and are happy to return to the couch once satisfied. The Borzoi love human companionship and will not do well in a home where they are left alone for long periods of time. They also have a mind of their own but are generally easy to train. If socialized with children and other animals at a young age, they will live quite peacefully with them.
