Good-natured and alert, the Border Terrier was bred to help with foxhunts. They have an intense drive to dig and have a high energy level yet have an amazing personality and are very intelligent. They are loyal, loving, and fearless. The Border Terrier needs an active family who will realize they are escape artists. They don’t like to be left alone for long periods of time and can become destructive if so. The Border Terrier aims to please so training is not too difficult, though they have an independent spirit. They typically get along with children and strangers, if properly socialization from an early age.
