Beaucerons, also commonly called the Bas Rouge, originated from the Northern regions of France where they are called Berger de Beauce. They are classified as a working dog and are usually used for herding or guarding purposes. These dogs can live up to 12 years and can weigh as much as 45 kilograms. They do not vary widely in color, with the most common color variants being black and tan, harlequin, black and rust, or tri-color. Overall, the Beauceron dog breed is known to be very calm and friendly, but also intelligent and fearless at the same time.< p>
