A mix of the Chihuahua and Yorkshire Terrier, the Chorkie is known for being protective of family, having a cheerful disposition, and being very affectionate. Despite these factors, they are not good with small children, and may become aggressive; families with older kids are a better choice. Although mixed with Chihuahua, they do not bark to alert the family when there is a stranger or someone they don’t know nearby. The Chorkie is also difficult to train, requiring the assistance of obedience school, as well as patience on the behalf of the owner. These little dogs are a good match for those who have a city life, since they don’t require much exercise.
